- In 2010 (the last year when licensing in New York was handled at the state level), there were 65,270 licensed dogs in Erie County.
- There are currently (as of summer 2015) 5,780 licensed dogs in the town of Lancaster.
- There are six dog parks in Erie County (with a seventh in the works for Grand Island) and none of them are anywhere near Lancaster. Using the center of Lancaster as the starting point, the two closest parks are the Amherst Paw Park, which is 12 miles/24 minutes away, and Knox Farm Dog Park, which is 10 miles/18 minutes away. The other parks are all even farther.
